Design Museum Dharavi is an open format and since the start of the project wanted to inspire other people, adapting it and creating similar initiatives at other locations. Post 2001 Gujarat earthquake, Gandhi nu Gam at Ludiya was one of the sixteen villages where Vastu Shilpa Foundation was involved with the rehabilitation process. It involved the construction of 455 traditional bhungas together with three schools, a grass bank, community buildings, production centres, religious shrines, the electricity network and a water harvesting system.
