Dumas is an important landmark of Surat city known for being an important port, beach, fishing and recreation destination. The Dumas project was conceived as a street celebrating the identity of a long lost historic landmark.

The restoration of the Mahidpur Fort is a collaboration between government agencies, local community, ATA and World Monuments Fund. The site is an example of plural identities and syncretic culture, receiving the UNESCO Asia Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation in 2016.

Post 2001 Gujarat earthquake, Gandhi nu Gam at Ludiya was one of the sixteen villages where Vastu Shilpa Foundation was involved with the rehabilitation process. It involved the construction of 455 traditional bhungas together with three schools, a grass bank, community buildings, production centres, religious shrines, the electricity network and a water harvesting system.
